One More River w&m Traditional Bodzac Old Noah he did build the Ark there’s one more river to cross. and he patched it up with hickory bark there’s one more river to cross. One more river and that’s the river of Jordon. One more river, there’s one more river to cross. Jacko The animals came in two by two, the bilby and the kangaroo. Grimy He built it wide and long and tall, plenty of room for large and small. Georgina He went to work to load the Ark and he anchored the boat to a great big rock. Rod The rain came down, the wind did blow “Hold on,” said Noah, “It’s time to go.”

I Know Where I'm Going w&m Traditional I know where I’m going and I know who’s going with me. I know who I love and I know who I will marry. Some have stockings of silk and shoes of fine green leather, combs to fasten their hair and a ring for every finger. Love is like a rose, bright and fresh and new, but love can grow cold and fades with the summer dew. So I’ll buy me a golden box to put my true love in. take her out and kiss her and put her right back again. I know where I’m going and I know who’s going with me. I know who I love and I know who I will marry.

Hope 03:53
Hope w&m Nielson, Lyne, Thompson, Boucher 1986/1999 Hope is all around us, everyday we learn. Hope is everywhere we turn. Down to the sea again, the mist drifts over the green and gold. Tides crunch the spray in the air and the sand is there to meet each new wave as they re-appear forever. Woooo Up to the mountain peak, the red snow drips on the broken wood. Freeze takes our breath away, we spin in space, a dangerous grace, on this holy place. Woooo Out to the forest deep, the blue moss hangs on mysteriously. Eyes wink at every corner our ears are alert, it's close and alive, our hearts are on fire. Woooo Into the Narrow Way, the faces shine on a sunny day. Smells leave that tang in the air and the weeds are there to offer small green to the concrete collusion. Woooo

Wonder 04:24
Wonder w&m Gerry Holmes & Rod Boucher 1989 We wonder where our Dad has gone, we think he’s run away. When we woke up, he wasn’t there, we wish he’d tell us why. We wonder where our Dad has gone, our Mum she doesn’t say. She cries a bit and yells a lot, we hope he comes home soon. We wonder if he misses us and thinks about the times - we went out fishing for hours and hours and worked with the sheep and the goats and the cows and talked about when he was young and all the things he did back then. Wonder wonder wonder We wonder if we’ll ever be a family again. And go for drives on the motorbike and come home late for tea. We wonder if he misses us the way that we miss him.

Start Again 03:12
Start Again w&m Gerry Holmes & Rod Boucher 1987/1998 Will it ever be the same? Will we ever know the way? Can a broken heart be mended with a tear? When so much is lost then what’s to gain is it worth the cost or are we doomed to fail? Start again - never gonna see the change until we Start a-a-again - never gonna see the change ‘til we start all over. Sta-a-a-art a-gain. When the day is all but gone and we feel we can’t go on can an open heart be sure which way to turn? Would the simple way be wiser now, we could turn away but we don’t know how. Start again - never gonna see the change until we Start a-a-again - never gonna see the change ‘til we start all over. Sta-a-a-art, sta-a-a-art a-gain. We hit, we blame - we turn away. This love we have is more than just a game. We can bend the rules, ignore the score. If we settle for less, we both could grow much more. Start again - never gonna see the change until we Start a-a-again - never gonna see the change ‘til we start all over. Sta-a-a-art, sta-a-a-art, sta-a-a-art a-gain.

Rave Awhile 03:57
Rave Awhile w&m david Jackson & Rod Boucher 1972 Naggin’, braggin’, burnin’ our tongue out. Yakkin’, smackin’, wearin’ our lips down. Yellin’, screamin’, letting our lungs out. Weepin’, cryin’, dry our eyes now. Cheatin’, lyin’, better get the facts straight. Grinnin’, winnin’, show us those pearly whites. Sit down people, open our minds and Rave awhile we’ll see. Oh oh oh. We can take it Yeah, yeah If we can make it Yeah, yeah Rave Awhile people, we’re not worryin’ ‘cause it’s in one ear and out the other’n.

It Ain't Me 03:19
It Ain't Me w&m Rod Boucher 1971 I was born like a midnight rambler, I was seen as a sunken sky. I was heard when I froze in sheep steam canyon, never ever die, it ain’t me. It ain’t me, dear Lord, it ain’t me that you’re calling. It ain’t me, it ain’t me, it ain’t me. I was waved across the oceans, I was wandered o’er the land. I was shown I’s on a bright star shining, Rest my soul in shifting sand. When I see my time up yonder, I will know my journey’s through. You can take apart all of my worldly wonders and throw ‘em in the God almighty blue.

Somewhere, Somehow, Sometime w&m Rod Boucher 1973 Somewhere, Somehow, Sometime, I will love you. Once was a time, a time of innocence, I’ve had no recompense, it didn’t make much sense, but it made me-e. Then was a line for all the world to see, our hidden canopy, our favourite climbing tree, just you and me-e. Somewhere (Somewhere,) Somehow (Somehow,) Sometime I will love you. Years going by, we taught each other to cry, and we said, “Why, oh why?” We wished we both could die, but instead we lied. And soon the lie was truth, and soon we saw no use. We packed our empty bags and caught our trains to nowhere. All before we died alone, without a hope, without a home. We jumped but missed our mark, we wished we’d never had to start. But we did you know, ‘cause people told us so, but people can lie you know. Just to make us go is a feeling of woe. Somewhere (Somewhere,) Somehow (Somehow,) Sometime I will love you.

Woody 03:21
Woody w&m Rod Boucher 1971 Call my name, Woody come home, Mama needs her baby to keep her from the cold. Ride boy ride, Woody ride home, Papa needs his man to lean on now, now, now, now, now. Runaway from nowhere, runaway to nothing. Living from dreams to dreams, Woody come home again. Come on home, Woody my son. Your loved ones grieve your company, your friends desire your sympathy, your parents live in misery, your future is uncertainty, your searching for humanity but you’re running from reality.

Draw The Line w&m Rod Boucher 1994 We got a river of discontent, about our Members of Parliament. There will be the voices of dissent, o-oh discontent. And so the people gonna agitate, about the problems to investigate. Against the grain, it tends to aggravate, o-oh agitate. We got a space to make it happen, we gotta take the time. We never did like to be spat on, we gotta point of view, we gotta Draw the Line. You were elected now you must decide, a bit of talk and listen on each side. Don’t try and take us for a pleasant ride, o-oh you must decide. We’re looking for some more encouragement, so offer us a little commitment. We’re working for a fairish settlement, o-oh encouragement. We got a space to make it happen, we gotta take the time. We never did like to be spat on, we gotta point of view, we gotta Draw the Line. So tell me all about Democracy, and mix it with a bit of blasphemy. Don’t you be caught hearing a heresy, o-oh Democracy. We got a space to make it happen, we gotta take the time. We never did like to be spat on, we gotta point of view, we gotta Draw the Line.

Remember When w&m Rod Boucher 2021 Remember when everything seemed easier? Remember when everyone would gather ‘round? Seasons come and change, nothing stays the same forever after all. New days, new ways, new lives bring unexpected consequences. New years, new hopes, new dreams can complicate our expectations. As the times slide by, we rant and laugh and cry over the milk spilt, the bridges burnt, the deeds done, the favoured ones. Remember when everything seemed easier? Remember when everyone would gather ‘round? Seasons come and change, nothing stays the same forever after all. New days, new ways, new lives New years, new hopes, new dreams As the times slide by, we rant and laugh and cry over the milk spilt, the bridges burnt, the deeds done, the favoured ones. Dreaming 03:09
Dreaming w&m Rod Boucher 1994 You tell me that your friend has gone away so maybe you will meet again someday. You never have before, you heard, you spoke you saw but you must have been Dreaming. And even with the fragrance in the air (dreaming) the whispers of a long foreboding stare (dreaming) I’m sure you might be right but still it may be night and you could have been Dreaming. Like the mist as it hugs the hill, (aahh) like the dew on the window sill. (window sill) So you swirl in your mind, so you tremble in time. so you wander in dreaming. Dreaming can take the chance for dreamers can sing and dance. To laugh at the moon, to cry and to swoon, to struggle in Dreaming. And to run and to jump and to fly when the world says to take your place, take your place. is to live with your head in the air and the wind in your face, live in grace. You tell me that your friend has gone away (dreaming) so maybe you will meet again someday. (dreaming) You never have before, you heard, you spoke you saw but you must have been Dreaming. hold on to Dreaming. stay close to Dreaming.

See The Sun Again w&m Rod Boucher 2021 Open out the shutters, swing the shades aside. We can see the sun again. Draw the curtains wider, pull the blinds up high. We can see the sun again. The light is streaming through our window, another day is being born. Wonder who we’ll meet and greet out in the garden, in the street. Forever old, forever new, the sunlight breaking through--. In our room alone, a streak of daylight sparkles. We can see the sun again. Curled up in our bed, write a note to self, We can see the sun again. The light is streaming through our window, another day is being born. Wonder who we’ll meet and greet out in the garden, in the street. Forever old, forever new, the sunlight breaking through--. Time to get up, move along, and face the day. We can see the sun again. The gift of every hour is waiting to be opened. We can see the sun again. Let’s face it. We can see the sun again. Face the future, We can see the sun again. a day at a time, We can see the sun again. time and again. We can see the su--n a---gai---n.

Along The Road w&m Rod Boucher 2021 We said that we would go and drive ourselves beyond the mark to try to make the change. Instead we feared the worst of it would happen if we took the plunge and rearranged. Even if we wanted, we know we couldn’t do it. Often when we tried to, we went ahead and blew it, out of line. A little bit of worry puts our body, mind and heart and soul in trouble. It never ever goes the way we thought it would before we even started. There’s the destination, what’s the hesitation. We could be mistaken about our resolution to be, on our way. Hey! We can wait, we can share, we can contemplate the heavy load. We need help, we need hope, we need grace to get along the road. See you out along the road. Moving on along the road. Along, along, along, along the road. So now that we are well along the narrow way that stretches further out ahead. We’ve taken twists and turns, the highs and lows, the rough and smooth, the even close to death. Time for some reflection, a little introspection. Yet we’re still expecting some serious surprises up ahead. Yeah. We can wait, we can share, we can contemplate the heavy load. We need help, we need hope, we need grace to get along the road. See you out along the road. Moving on along the road. Along, along, along, along the road.

about

1970's Adelaide band, 'Buffalo Drive', evolved from a local folk quartet, 'The Henchmen', around 1964: four mates featuring strong vocal harmonies and acoustic instruments - guitars, banjo, mandolin and double bass. In 1969 'The Henchmen' morphed into ‘Genesis', playing original songs along with popular covers.
In 1970 they went electric, brought in a lead guitarist, drummer and Hammond organist, and became 'Buffalo Drive', a 6-piece national touring and recording rock band, whose music evolved from the rollicking folk of the 50s and early 60s via covers of 60s/70s pop hits to strong original songs with a feel-good, sing-along vibe including chart hit, 'Life's Been Good To Me”. 50 years on 5 original members have regrouped to relive and present the songs, the joy and the fun times!
