Every little bit of Australia w&m Rod Boucher 1973 Adelaide Every little bit of Australia is a little bit of you and me. Every little bit of Australia is a little bit of you and me. We’ve got the Kindy’s and Beginners and the Primary Schools where the kiddies learn to read and write. We’ve got the Colleges and Universities for the ones that seem so bright. We’ve got the Technical, Trade School, Apprentices for those who like to use their hands and all the rest left over, get to sing in rock’n’roll bands. Well Every little bit of Australia is a little bit of you and me. Every little bit of Australia is a little bit of you and me. We’ve got the footy on a Saturday afternoon where everybody rants and raves. We’ve got the big American Supermart where the house-husbands shop and save. We’ve got Clubs and Tattersalls, TAB where we try to win a quid but the Tele and the all-night radio, one of the best things we ever did. Well, well. Every little bit of Australia is a little bit of you and me. Every little bit of Australia is a little bit of you and me. We’ve got the Swan and the Torrens and the Brisbane too, all the rivers run through the towns. We’ve got Sydney Harbour, the Murray and the Yarra where the water is thick and brown. We’ve got the Snowy and the Ord and Pine Gap that were put there for our sake but to bung the politicians in Canberra was the smartest move to make. Now the First Nations people have been here since Dreaming Time. They’ve got birds and animals all their own, it’s a land as old as time. We’ve got cities and towns and migrant friends, a great Australian dream---, so take all your papers and tins and things, and “Keep Australia Clean”. Every little bit of Australia is a little bit of you and me. Every little bit of Australia is a little bit of you and me. Every little bit of Australia is a little bit of you and me. Every little bit of Australia is a little bit of you and me. Every little bit of Australia is a little bit of you and me. Every little bit of Australia is a little bit of you and me.

Rag & Bone 03:38
Rag & Bone w&m Rod Boucher 1974 Adelaide Rag & bone. Rag & bone. Jimmy Collins was a funny faced kid and he hung around the pub takin’ what they’d give. He was the ugliest boy in a fam’ly of five so to keep alive he left home. Jimmy Collins hit the open road and he tried to live by the country code but he took to the city in the great depression with a great recession in pride. Bone, bone, rag & bone. Any old bottles and tins around your home. I don’t want sticks and stones . . . . just rag & bone. Rag & bone. Rag & bone. Jimmy Collins bought a beat up truck from collecting bottles and soiled muck. He set up a business and he made a life selling cityside, secondhand. Jimmy Collins would rattle and roll down the Highbury Street by the Primary school, and the kids would scream and whistle and shout at the silly old goat with the bones. Bone, bone, rag & bone. Any old bottles and tins around your home. I don’t want sticks and stones . . . . just rag & bone. Rag & bone. Rag & bone. Jimmy Collins at sixty-five is neither dead nor neither alive. He’s a solitary soul from a distant age when a man worked hard for the money he made. Now he won’t take the pension ‘cause he’s self-employed and the only real trouble’s he gets annoyed when the kids get rough and they kick his shins. Does anybody care if an old man wins? Put yourself in the old man’s skin. Bone, bone, rag & bone. Any old bottles and tins around your home. I don’t want sticks and stones, Bone, bone, rag & bone. Any old bottles and tins around your home. I don’t want sticks and stones . . . . just rag & bone. Rag & bone. Rag & bone.

Fortunate Fella w Rod Boucher m Valdis Adamsons & Rod Boucher 1971 Adelaide I was born a Fortunate Fella ‘cause I was born with a sunshine sky. I was raised from the rain and the wind boys, never really knowin’ a trouble and a pain. I have lived as a Fortunate Fella, boy, this world’s been good to me. Every little have is a comin’ on easy I’ve been given every opportunity. And if I die a Fortunate Fella, I will have been nothing more. My time of three score years an’a ten boys wouldn’t stir the heart of any one I adore. And so I’ll die a Fortunate Fella, right now before I live another day. I will crave a life, I’ll crave a life of hardship, of pain and toil, all work no play. INSTRUMENTAL guitar You’ll hear me shout, in a voice of thunder, you’ll feel me scream like I wanna wanna die, you’ll know this boy is a comin’ to get you - Mister Fortunate Fella, I’m at your side------. I’ll shake your soul from a sin and a sickness, I’ll blow your mind of your, “No, no, no.” Mister Fortunate Fella, when you feel the trouble, I’ll kick you hard but I’ll still be near. Then this old world will know my terror, I’ll drive the cobwebs from the doors. I’ll sweep the streets of a damp and a musty. This Fortunate Fella will die no more.

Yoohoo 03:22
Yoohoo w&m Rod Boucher 1973 Adelaide SA Yoohoo Yoohoo Yoohoo Well we were sitting around last Saturday night and we didn’t know what to do. I was talkin’ to my wife and she said, “Rodney, it’s plainer to me than you. What we need is a little bit of home grown, good old, Aussie, rock’n’Roll.” So we phoned up the friends and we had ‘em around and we made that neighbourhood go. We did Good old, good old Aussie dance and sing. Yoohoo Yoohoo Yoohoo So we turned off the television, turned off the radio and the records too, we took out the guitars, and we took out the drums and the old piano tunes and we did what you call a little home grown good old Aussie dance and sing. Every body jumped, everybody danced, everybody sang along. We did Good old, good old Aussie dance and sing. Yoohoo Yoohoo Yoohoo Yoohoo Yoohoo Yoohoo So, come on over to our place people if you find you’ve got nothing to do. Take out your guitars and your dancing shoes, we’re gonna go the whole night through. And even if the copper comes a knockin’ at the door, to tell us to quit the din, we’ll say, “Shake up the rest of the boys in the band, you’re all invited in. We did Good old, good old Aussie dance and sing. Yoohoo Yoohoo Yoohoo Yoohoo Yoohoo Yoohoo Yoohoo Yoohoo Yoohoo Yoohoo!

about

1970's Adelaide band, 'Buffalo Drive', evolved from a local folk quartet, 'The Henchmen', around 1964: four mates featuring strong vocal harmonies and acoustic instruments - guitars, banjo, mandolin and double bass. In 1969 'The Henchmen' morphed into ‘Genesis', playing original songs along with popular covers.
In 1970 they went electric, brought in a lead guitarist, drummer and Hammond organist, and became 'Buffalo Drive', a 6-piece national touring and recording rock band, whose music evolved from the rollicking folk of the 50s and early 60s via covers of 60s/70s pop hits to strong original songs with a feel-good, sing-along vibe including chart hit, 'Life's Been Good To Me”. 50 years on 5 original members have regrouped to relive and present the songs, the joy and the fun times!
