March on Brothers words & music traditional March on brothers, come with us. March on sisters, come with us. March on people, come with us. You know we’re on our way. One day as I went walking out Oh yes Lord! I saw a man a’building his house Oh yes Lord! He built that house upon the sand Oh yes Lord! The first wind came and blew it down Oh yes Lord! March on brothers, come with us. March on sisters, come with us. March on people, come with us. You know we’re on our way. I am not like that foolish man Oh yes Lord! and build my house upon the sand Oh yes Lord! I’ll build my house upon the rock Oh yes Lord! no wind nor storm shall blow it down Oh yes Lord! March on brothers, come with us. March on sisters, come with us. March on people, come with us. You know we’re on our way.

Mean, Mean Daddy words & music unknown You’ve got a mean, mean Daddy, You’ve got a mean, mean Daddy, You’ve got a mean, mean Daddy but I’m your daddy now. Early one morning when the crickets were cheeping and all the squares was in bed sleeping, I brought you home to your Daddy’s pad and there on the porch was your mean old Dad. Just sitting there . . . smiling . . . with a shotgun. Well he stood up and he smiled real slow, says, “The milkman came about an hour ago.” Suggested that I ought to scoot ‘cause I was standing right where he aimed to shoot. Couldn’t move . . . he pulled the trigger . . . I moved! You’ve got a mean, mean Daddy, (a mean mean Daddy) You’ve got a mean, mean Daddy, (a mean Old Man) You’ve got a mean, mean Daddy but I’m your daddy now. Well then he grinned and he got to his feet, says, “There’s someone here I’d like you to meet.” Out stepped your Mamma and the preacher man and in just one minute we was hand in hand, married. It was a lovely ceremony . . . 14 carat ring and 12 gauge shotgun. Well married life was going alright ’til a little stranger come into sight. Now I haven’t been to sleep since I dunno when I’m a’walkin’ the floor at two am. My heart full of love . . . my hands full of wet baby . . . gonna be some changes made. You’ve got a mean, mean Daddy, You’ve got a mean, mean Daddy, You’ve got a Mean, Mean Daddy now. (You’ve got a mean, mean Daddy but I’m your daddy now) “One more time” You’ve got a mean, mean Daddy, You’ve got a mean, mean Dad, You’ve got a mean, mean Daddy but I’m your daddy now----.

Fortunate Fella words Rod Boucher music Valdis Adamsons & Rod Boucher 1971 Adelaide I was born a Fortunate Fella ‘cause I was born with a sunshine sky. I was raised from the rain and the wind boys, never really knowin’ a trouble and a pain. I have lived as a Fortunate Fella, boy, this world’s been good to me. Every little have is a comin’ on easy I’ve been given every opportunity. And if I die a Fortunate Fella, I will have been nothing more. My time of three score years an’a ten boys wouldn’t stir the heart of any one I adore. And so I’ll die a Fortunate Fella, right now before I live another day. I will crave a life, I’ll crave a life of hardship, of pain and toil, all work no play. INSTRUMENTAL - guitar You’ll hear me shout, in a voice of thunder, you’ll feel me scream like I wanna wanna die, you’ll know this boy is a comin’ to get you - Mister Fortunate Fella, I’m at your side------. I’ll shake your soul from a sin and a sickness, I’ll blow your mind of your, “No, no, no.” Mister Fortunate Fella, when you feel the trouble, I’ll kick you hard but I’ll still be near. Then this old world will know my terror, I’ll drive the cobwebs from the doors. I’ll sweep the streets of a damp and a musty. This Fortunate Fella will die no more.

about

1970's Adelaide band, 'Buffalo Drive', evolved from a local folk quartet, 'The Henchmen', around 1964: four mates featuring strong vocal harmonies and acoustic instruments - guitars, banjo, mandolin and double bass. In 1969 'The Henchmen' morphed into ‘Genesis', playing original songs along with popular covers.
In 1970 they went electric, brought in a lead guitarist, drummer and Hammond organist, and became 'Buffalo Drive', a 6-piece national touring and recording rock band, whose music evolved from the rollicking folk of the 50s and early 60s via covers of 60s/70s pop hits to strong original songs with a feel-good, sing-along vibe including chart hit, 'Life's Been Good To Me”. 50 years on 5 original members have regrouped to relive and present the songs, the joy and the fun times!
